Lot Essay

References 3330 and 3335 are amongst the largest chronograph wristwatches ever produced by Rolex. Although not part of the instantly recognizable Oyster family, they have gained a distinguished position in the world of collector's watches, thanks to the twelve-hour register (a feature which was never available at Patek Philippe for example) and the beautiful case proportions, the perfect effigy of 1940s design.

Different examples of references 3330 and 3335 are described and illustrated in Il Cronografi Rolex - La Leggenda, Pucci Papaleo Editore, pp. 114 - 127.
