Lot Essay

During the late 1950s, Hollywood filmmakers began to use 70mm wide format film to provide a higher resolution than the standard 35mm format and an enhanced experience to viewers. Due to the high cost, most 70 mm films were also released on 35mm film for a wider distribution after the initial debut of the film. My Fair Lady was one of the last wide format musicals of the time.
