Lot Essay

The painting is is inscribed by Mr Ts’o Tsun On. Born in Hong Kong in 1904, he was the son of Dr Ts’o Seen-wan, founder and supporter of numerous educational institutions in Hong Kong and instrumental to the development of Hong Kong in the early 20th Century. Ts’o Tsun On had a long and illustrious career in the Hong Kong Auxilliary Police Force, rising to the rank of Commissioner.
