Lot Essay

These sketches are from a sketch book executed during the production of 'La Tricorne' in London at the Allhambra Theatre in July 1919. Knight was privileged to gain permission from Diaghilev to draw and paint backstage during the performances and rehearsals of the Ballets Russes.
