The present ref. 1803 is a very well-preserved representative of the famous Day-Date still retaining the factory green Rolex sticker to the case back as well as extremely sharp hallmarks. The rarity is further enhanced by the Arabic day and date indications and the presence of the original guarantee.
A closer look between the lugs of the watch reveals that the engraving of the serial and reference numbers are shifted slighlty towards the left side. It can be assumed that this happened due to inexact entering of the watch case on the fixture for the pantograph. The engravings are otherwise crisp and clear. These small discrepancies make this timepiece unique and indicate that the final inspection at the time applied higher levels of tolerance than the contemporary production process
