Born in Yinchuan in 1968, scholar and painter Tai Xiangzhou studied under the calligrapher Hu Gongshi and received his doctorate from Tsinghua University. Tai reconstructs the model configuration of early Chinese landscape paintings by researching on the origin and evolution of their compositions from ancient times. Tai’s works have been exhibited in important museums and galleries in the United States, and are collected by institutions such as the Harvard University, Yale University, and Princeton University Art Museum.
