Lot Essay
Counter Editions notes: 'Wool has chosen to remake a text painting from the early 80s at several removes. Photographed, xeroxed and then re-separated to become the basis of a screenprint, the original work, itself a painting without an image has become an image of a painting. The text reads as a statement of similar circularity: 'If you don't like it you can get the fuck out of my house', it states in black and white. If you can, the question - and specifically the question of painting - is probably no longer hanging in the air.'
