Modelled as a doge's hat, corno ducale, enamelled overall in translucent yellow over a fine hand engraved scrolling foliate design, decorated with two bands of opaque white enamel, set with rubies, emeralds and diamonds, alternating with seed-pearls, the finial set with a pearl within a diamond-set border, the hinged gold cover finely chased with rosettes on stippled ground, marked on cover with 'Fabergé' in Cyrillic
