Gustav Ritter von Franck (1807-1860), Vienna (Lugt 1152); presumably acquired on 16 March 1827 (according to pencil inscription verso); probably his posthumous sale (date and place unknown).

D. August Sträter (1810-1897), Aachen (Lugt 787; without his mark); presumably acquired from the above; his posthumous sale, H.G. Gutekunst, Stuttgart, 10-14 May 1898, lot 150 ('Abdruck von seltener Schönheit, mit breitem Rand. Wasserzeichen: Der Krug. Sammlung Franck') (RM 305; to Louis Meder for Gerstenberg).
