‌These chenets are the Chinoiserie variant of the famous model by Jacques Caffieri (1678-1755). Depicting a hunter and a huntress alongside a wild boar and hounds over identical stone bridges, such chenets were listed in Caffieri's estate in 1755 as un autre modèle de garniture de gril représentant d’un côté un chasseur lançant un épieu sur un sanglier et de l’autre une amazone et deux chiens." The most well-known example was delivered to Louise-Elisabeth, daughter of Louis XV and duchess of Parma at her palace in Colorno in 1753, and are now preserved at the Palazzo del Quirinale, Rome, see A. González-Palacios, Il Patrimonio Artistico del Quirinale: Gli arredi Francesi, Milan, 1995, pp. 264-265, fig. 67.
