Lot Essay

Adams's work engages the relationship between Black culture and commerce that is core to his practice, alongside the ways costuming and self-styling communicate identity. Big Pants to Fill exists within Adams’s Mood Board series, which pays homage to influential Black designers while further acknowledging Black fashion, pageantry, and form on a broad scale.
