Introduced in 1976, the steel Nautilus underwent minor changes until the introduction of Reference 5711 in 2006. The new model marked the 30^th year anniversary of the celebrated timepiece, and signified a new era for the watch. Initially, the watch was only available in stainless steel on a bracelet. Nine years later, Reference 5711/1R-001 came into production.

The present lot, Reference 5711/1R-001 has a three part construction case crafted from 18k rose gold with a matching bracelet. The dial is gradient brown in color with the signature horizontal grooves that play with light. The pattern is meant to evoke the teak wood decks on boats. Reference 5711R is a bold and contemporary timepiece ready to wear at any occasion.
