The shade formed of three shell-form mother-of-pearl panels painted with scenes of Austria including a view of Vienna's 'Spinner at the Cross' monument inscribed beneath 'Wien von Spinnerin am Kreuz zu sehen', a view of Franzensburg Castle inscribed 'Laxenburg' beneath and a view of Schönbrunn Palace from across the pond inscribed 'Schönbrunn', the base with a mount for the accompanying wick trimmer
