Man Ray se photographie ici allongé dans l'appartement de Lee Miller, rue Victor-Considerant à Paris, quelle partagea un temps avec Tanja Ramm. Man Ray s’était occupé de décorer l’appartement en recouvrant certains murs de disques phonographiques, un oeuf d’autruche était suspendu au plafond et une grande tapisserie réalisée d'après une rayographie (que l’on aperçoit derrière lui) trônait au-dessus du lit.

Man Ray is photographed here lying in the apartment of Lee Miller, located on Rue Victor-Considerant in Paris, which she shared for a time with Tanja Ramm. Man Ray decorated the apartment by covering the walls with phonograph records, suspending an ostrich egg from the ceiling, and displaying a large tapestry made from a rayograph (visible behind him) above the bed.
