Lot Essay

A miniature of a young lady, described as measuring 2 5/8 x 2 1/8 in., with 'fair hair; necklace of pearls; pearls in ear. Signed I.H. and dated 1654', from the collection of Mr. F. A. Hyett, is recorded in J. J. Foster, Samuel Cooper and the English Miniature Painters of the XVII Century, London, 1924-1926, supplement, p. 150, no. 228.
