«J’ai pris mon corps, ma longueur, mon existence - comme je l’ai souvent dit - comme une sorte de sacrifice pictural et l’essence, l’incarnation de cette procédure, crée une œuvre de la même manière que nous créons tous des œuvres de notre vie. Chaque fois que j'ajoute un nombre, tout change. C’est une sorte de voyage, si vous voulez, où les étapes sont conscientes à chaque fois, chaque étape ajoute aux autres le poids de la durée de toutes ces étapes que vous avez vécues."
‘I took my body, my length, my existence as I have often said, as a sort of pictorial sacrifice and the essence, the embodiment of this procedure, creates a work much the same as we all create works with our lives. Every time that I add a number, everything changes. It is a sort of journey, if you will, where the steps are conscious each and every time, each step adds to the others, the weight of the duration of all these steps that you have lived.’
