A RARE MAYAN JADE PENDANT
Late Classic, ca. A.D. 550-950
An unusual cube of jade carved on all six sides, two sides with concentric cruciform motif, the arms of equal length, the four corners deeply engraved with four aged deities, possibly God L, their faces encased within monsters' jaws, each centering a similar 'cross' motif, deeply drilled transversally; in apple green mottled stone.
Height 1 3/8 in. (3.3 cm.)
