The domed cover with a richly-gilt cone-shaped finial, the vase boldly painted and gilt with Kakiemon-style flowering shrubs, foliage and a grasshopper perched on a blade of grass, the reverse with insects, moths, sprigs and trailing leafy branches, the neck with flower-sprays and sprigs, the cover similarly decorated with flowering branches issuing from rockwork, within a gilt line rim (restored rim chip to cover, minor associated retouching to gilding, finial cracked and restored, neck cracked and restored, very minor wear to enamels)
