Lot Essay

With Rolex fitted presentation box.

A man of undeniably exquisite taste and also a watch enthusiast, His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said al Said, owned and offered as gifts innumerable timepieces. Some of these, blessed with never-before-seen personalisations of the dial, simply made modern horology history as symbols of the ultimate level of watch collecting.

The present reference 6265 is part of the watches that were made on special order for the Sultan. Its dial is adorned with the red Qaboos signature that is a rare feature in itself. It stands out against the all gold design of the watch and the black Rolex writings.
Looking at its condition, one can notice at a first glance that it has received all the care that it deserves due to its importance related to its very exclusive provenance. The satin finish to the lugs, the polishing to the sides, the milling to the pushers, crown and back: all of these elements remained untouched throughout its entire life. Even the luminous accents have not aged a bit, their icy white colour is unchanged so as their dome shaped form.

The combination of the prestigious Rolex and the exclusive and much thought after Qaboos signatures results in this breathtaking treasure. Being the only example of a gold reference 6265 bearing the red Qaboos signature added with its close to perfect condition, this lot is a rare opportunity to acquire a most appealing and exclusive manual gold Daytona.
