  • Mark Wrey

    BIOGRAPHY

    Mark Wrey began his career at Christie’s King Street in 1974 where he worked for 18 years in the Press, PR and Marketing departments, becoming Marketing Director in 1986. Highlights among his many exciting projects at this time were the amazing £10m Nanking Cargo Shipwreck Sale and the sale of Van Gogh’s Sunflowers, which was a landmark sale; this was the first picture to sell for more than £10m when it sold for £22.5m in 1987. Mark then took responsibility in 1992 for Christie’s interests in the South of England. This involved looking after clients’ needs, providing valuations and selections for sale. The culmination of this period were the sales which he orchestrated from Cowdray Park, involving all specialist art departments as well as advice from the Valuations and Heritage & Taxation departments. This extensive project culminated in some exceptional sales. Mark has been a Senior Director in the UK Chairman’s Office and took on the role of Head of Estates , Appraisals and Valuations EMERI department in 2012. He travels extensively and greatly enjoys the vast variety of objects, collections and clients that he encounters every week.

  • Tom Legh

    Account Manager, Director

    BIOGRAPHY

    Tom Legh joined Christie's in 2008, moved to the Estates, Appraisals & Valuations department in 2011 and became a Director in 2016. He has extensive experience in managing complex UK and international valuations in preparation for auction, notable examples being Living with Art in 2012 and the Harewood Collecting in the Royal Tradition Sale. Skilled at anticipating the wide-ranging needs of clients, Tom has particular focus on the issues facing UK heritage clients, including conditional exemption claims, offers in lieu and other tax planning exercises. He has an MA in History of Art and Architectural History from the University of Edinburgh, a Graduate Diploma in Law and is a STEP qualified Trust and Estate Practitioner. This broad skillset enables Tom to help clients navigate the complex issues which arise in the international art market.

  • Hannah Boissier

    BIOGRAPHY

    Hannah Boissier holds a BA in History of Art from the University of Leeds and spent time working in contemporary art before joining the Estates, Appraisals & Valuations department in 2012. She was appointed Associate Director in 2018. Hannah manages both UK and international valuations in preparation for auction, most notably, A Surreal Legacy - Selected Works of Art from the Edward James Foundation in 2016. Hannah also has extensive experience managing the complex requirements of international clients and is versed in project management spanning various countries and jurisdictions. Her broad skillset enables Hannah to help clients navigate the complex issues which arise in the international art market.

  • Georgie Mawby

    Account Manager, Associate Director

    BIOGRAPHY

    Georgie joined Christie's in 2010, became an Account Manager in 2014, and was appointed Associate Director in 2016. Georgie holds a BA (Hons) in History of Art from the Courtauld Institute of Art and is a STEP qualified Trust and Estate Practitioner. Georgie works with a diverse range of international private clients, trusts and estates, on issues relating to the valuation of works of art and collection management. She has a particular interest in the issues facing UK heritage clients including preparation of complex valuations for probate, negotiated sales to the nation in lieu of tax, and conditional exemption claims. Georgie has extensive experience managing valuations of property in the UK and worldwide for sale at auction, including the Collection of the late Lord Weidenfeld in 2017; and in 2018 an Eaton Square interior by the designer Michael S. Smith.

    BIOGRAPHY

    Prior to joining Christie’s, Susann read law at Westfalische-Wilhelms Universitat, Munster, Germany before earning a Masters Degree in Business, from the HULT Business School, London. Susann joined the Estates, Appraisals & Valuations department in 2012, and was appointed Associate Director in 2018. She has extensive experience in managing complex international valuations in preparation for auction, notable examples include, The Collection of Chiara and Francesco Carraro in 2016, and the Personal Collection of Barbara Lambrecht in 2017. As a German native, Susann has a particular in German speaking regions as well as focused knowledge of the local jurisdictional requirements which enable her to assist with financial planning, insurance and tax.

  • Miriam Winson-Alio

    BIOGRAPHY

    Miriam Winson is a Director and Account Manager in London. She holds a Bachelor in Business Administration from Spain and a Postgraduate degree in Art History from Cambridge University, later gaining a Master’s at Christie’s Education/Glasgow University. Prior to joining Christie’s she had a successful career in Trade Finance and was based in Switzerland. Miriam joined Christie’s in the Old Masters & 19th Century Art department in 2010, where she played a pivotal role co-ordinating some of the most successful auctions to date, such as The Dreesmann Collection. In 2012 Miriam moved to Estates, Appraisals & Valuations and has since managed numerous projects globally. Her languages and international professional experience bring wider knowledge and a broader perspective to the team.
