Cal. 557 nickel-finished lever movement fully hand-engraved with scrolls, movement plate signed Tourbillon Breguet No. 2009, Brevet du 7 Messidor An 9, 21 jewels, one-minute tourbillon carriage with mono-metallic compensation balance visible beneath the dial at six o'clock, silvered striped dial with off-centered hour dial with Roman numerals, all concealed under a hinged engine-turned cover with porthole and plaque engraved Tourbillon, the enterior of the cover lid hand engraved with the signature of Nicolas G. Hayek, opened by pressing a button in the crown, the large circular case with coin-edged band, sapphire crystal display back, case, dial and movement signed, with a platinum Breguet deployant clasp

Accompanied by Breguet cardboard slipcase, wood presentation box, certificate of origin, instruction manual and commemorative loupe.

The reference 1801 is part of a special edition created for the 200th anniversary of Breguet's invention of the tourbillon on "7 Messidor An 9 (26 June 1801).

A total of 66 examples were produced in the limited edition series - 28 examples in white gold, 28 examples in pink gold and 10 examples in platinum, of which this is number 9.

The present watch represents the first example of the reference 1801 in platinum to appear at auction.
