drypoint, circa 1889, on laid paper, Breeskin's only state, signed in pencil, annotated 'no. 1', with margins, pale uneven staining, five minute stains at lower left (one affecting the image), minor surface soiling, extremely pale scattered foxing, occasional handling creases, two 1-in. areas of skinning at the reverse of the upper left and right margin edges (with associated hinge remains and some losses), blue paper remains in places at the reverse of the extreme right sheet edge, the R. Hartshorne inkstamp at the reverse of the lower right image (twice, slightly showing through), otherwise in good condition
