drypoint in brown, circa 1890, on green laid paper watermark Glaignes and VL within a coat of arms, a fine, delicate impression, Breeskin's fifth state (of six), signed in pencil, annotated 'état' (the edition was 25, Breeskin notes that Cassatt may have incorrectly inscribed prints later in life), with full margins (deckle along all sides), minor surface soiling, rippling throughout, occasional creasing (stronger in the lower right margin), the R. Hartshorne inkstamp at the reverse of the lower left image (slightly showing through), pale time staining, a few short tears at the extreme lower right margin edge, hinge remains at the reverse of the upper margin edge (slightly showing through with associated staining), blue chalk residue in places on the reverse, otherwise in good condition
