The Daniel Roth company was established in 1989 in Le Sentier, a village on the shore of the Lac de Joux. This followed a longer family tradition of Swiss watchmaking, as both Roth's grandfather and great grandfather were watchmakers in the Neuchâtel region, inspiring the young Roth's early passion. His career began at Audemars Piguet and soon rocketed under the guidance of the Chaumet brothers and their vision for renewing the Breguet brand in Switzerland: Roth was soon designing perpetual calendar and tourbillon watches for the Breguet name in his role as manufacturing manager.
When the time came for his own company, Roth set about creating his own brand, focusing on interesting, innovative and quality watches. In 2000, the company was acquired by the Bulgari Group, and today the brand still benefits from a strong identity long inspired by Roth's commitment to the exclusive development of mechanisms and designs often regarded as world firsts.
