With Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch with black dial, applied indexes in white gold, tritium, in 1974 and its subsequent sale on 13 April 1977. The Extract furthermore confirms that the original movement of this watch was replaced by movement no. 1'310'144 during a servicing in the firm's workshops in 1982.

The celebrated Nautilus reference 3700/1 was launched in 1976 and remained in production until 1986. The model is illustrated in Patek Philippe Wristwatches by Martin Huber & Alan Banbery, second edition, p. 231.
