With Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch with opaline-white dial and white gold indexes in 1991 and its subsequent sale on 14 January 1992.

Never been offered at auction before, this watch is furthermore only the third example of a reference 3998 in platinum to appear in public.

Reference 3998 was in production from 1989 until 2005.
