拍品专文

In producing his pictures Georg Herold consciously renounces elaborate or perfectionist techniques and traditional materials, in favour of an assemblage of heterogenous materials such as roof slats, bricks, caviar and wire that are foreign to every established artistic tradition. The themes he tackles range from art history, to society and politics. His specific concern with language is not only clear from his choice of provocative titles, but is also evident in an on-going, constantly updated glossary that he has been working on for almost thirty years and which regularly appears in his catalogues in a continually enlarged and updated version.
