Based on a series of French-curve drawings. The sculptures are very unusual in Chamberlain's oeuvre and are the only instance in which he began an idea for sculptures with drawings. He translated the drawings into three-dimensional objects by creating forms of steel rod and wire mesh, which were then coated with fibreglass and painted with acrylic lacquer. In some instances, the lacquer was sanded down in order to reveal the surface underneath.
