Of rectangular outline, the polished gold vanity case depicting five dancing ballerinas, each set with a rose-cut diamond face and circular-cut ruby or sapphire tiara, their sculpted gold tutus decorated with circular-cut diamonds, rubies and sapphires, the principal ballerina holding a circular-cut ruby garland, dancing within engraved trees, beneath the star-set diamond sky, to the pushpiece opening to reveal a fitted mirror, two compartments, a covered lipstick holder and a plastic comb, circa 1943, 5 x 3 1/8 x 7/8 ins., with French exportation marks
