AN ART DECO MULTI-GEM AND DIAMOND "GAZELLE" DESK CLOCK, BY OSTERTAG
Designed as a beveled-edged rock crystal pentagon frame with diamond geometric accents, with an arched rock crystal dial, with mechanical movement, 15 jewels, with applied rose-cut diamond and platinum Arabic numerals and hands, the foreground designed as a tranquil scene depicting a carved aquamarine gazelle resting on top of an agate, lapis lazuli, rock crystal and diamond fountain, flanked on either side by lapis lazuli pillars, topped by carved emerald and ruby vegetation, to the black lacquer base with gray agate feet, circa 1929, 8½ x 10 x 5 ins., with French assay marks, in a brown leather fitted case
