With Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch with black dial, applied luminous indexes in white gold and white gold bracelet in 1978 and its subsequent sale on 20 June 1979.

Consigned by the family of the original owner, this watch has never been offered in public before and is preserved in very good original overall condition. It is furthermore believed to be one of only six examples of the exceedingly rare Nautilus ref. 3700/1 in white gold to appear at auction to date.

The celebrated Nautilus reference 3700/1 was launched in 1976 and remained in production until 1986. The model is illustrated in Patek Philippe Wristwatches by Martin Huber & Alan Banbery, second edition, p. 231.
