Antique components were often incoporated into important jewelry manufactured between 1920 and 1950. Esteemed jewelry houses, such as Van Cleef & Arpels and Cartier, frequently applied the antique aesthetic to their designs, inserting remnants of historical jewelry into new creations. The juxtaposition is striking and effective, combining the finest craftsmanship of the time with a nod to the historical influences that continue to impact jewelry to this day.
