Château Latour--Vintage 1962
Pauillac, 1er cru classé. Château-bottled
"Latour 1962 continues to be one of the great vintages for this chéteau. A dense opaque garnet color reveals amber at the edge, as well as an incredible perfume of cedar wood, balsam, coffee, black fruits, leather, and cigar smoke. The wine is supple and full-bodied, with sweet tannin, glorious levels of fruit and extract, abundant glycerin, and a seductive, truffle-flavored finish. While it has been drinkable for two decades, it is capable of lasting another 20 years. It is a perfectly balanced, exciting Latour that remains undervalued as well as underrated." 95 points, Robert Parker, June 2000

"Tasted amongst a selection of mature First Growths and paired with Lafite of the same vintage. The Latour had a deep, attractive, mature colour - good acidity backing aromas of smoky ripe fruit and leather, dry and elegant with a lingering aftertaste." At Christie's King Street, David Elswood, March 2010
