This print has three corners torn off, not affecting the image area. No, it is not a damaged print. On the contrary, it is the result of Smith's own method for indicating that this is the best print made from this negative. As he would evaluate prints, he would tear off a corner if he deemed one to be good. As he compared it with other prints, he would tear another corner off if he found it better than the others. Finally, the third corner would come off if he considered it the best.
