In his day, Chuck Barris reigned as the king of popular culture. He created, wrote or co-wrote the music for the television shows the Dating Game, the Gong Show and the Newlywed Game. His most successful musical outing won him a gold record for the rock song Palisades Park. A prolific author, Barris has written seven books, one of which was turned into the movie Confessions of a Dangerous Mind from Warner Bros., produced by George Clooney and starring Sam Rockwell. In this autobiography, Barris claims to have worked as an assassin for the CIA, which is patently denied by the U.S. government. Barris now resides outside Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Reference 3940 is illustrated in Patek Philippe Wristwatches by Martin Huber & Alan Banbery, second edition, p. 292-293.
