Leif-Erik Nygards was the assistant of Bert Stern at the time of what has become to be known The Last Sitting: the last time Marylin Monroe was photographed before she died. After the official shoot ended, Bert Stern let his assistant take some portraits for his own portfolio. In a twist of fate, the young Nygards would become the last ever photographer to photograph the actress.
