Full plate gilded brass movement, duplex escapement, plain three-arm brass balance, pare-chute suspension on the pivot, blued steel flat balance spring with bimetallic compensation curb on the regulator, à toc quarter repeating, later gold cuvette, later engine-turned silver dial, Roman numerals on blank chapter ring, outer minute track, blued steel Breguet hands, subsidiary seconds, later plain circular case, movement signed Breguet No. 890, case stamped with London date letter for 1849 and casemaker's initials AN possibly for Adolph Nicole

With Breguet Certificate No. 3747 dated 30 April 1982 confirming that both gold case and silver dial are not by Breguet.

A similar full plate à toc quarter repeating movement with duplex escapement, no. 869, is illustrated and described in The Art of Breguet by George Daniels, p. 185, pl. 149c.
