US$130,000-200,000
With Patek Philippe Certificate of Origin dated 14 January 2010 confirming the Patek Philippe bracelet, product literature, instruction manual and leather wallet.
The present example is fresh to the market, in overall very good condition and offered here with a rare detachable white gold Patek Philippe bracelet, a special order from the original owner. It is the first time that a reference 5131 is offered at auction with an exclusive bracelet perfectly enhancing this superb watch.
Reference 5131 is a tribute to Patek Philippe's vintage world time watches, which are today amongst the rarest treasures, especially when highlighted by a superb cloisonné enamel dial such as the present contemporary example. As the art of making such dials is highly complex and requires great skill from dedicated artisans, the numbers produced are very limited.
Reference 5131 is equipped with the ultra-thin automatic calibre 240 HU. (HU stands for Heure Universelle, wich is French for World Time). It features an eccentric 22k gold micro-rotor recessed in the back plate.
Reference 5131 was produced in two different case materials with two different cloisonné enamel dials. The yellow gold version displays the Americas, Europe and Africa, while the white gold version, such as the present example, displays Europe, Africa, Asia and Oceania.
A detailed count reveals that only 9 other examples in white gold are known to have appeared at auction to date.
