A work by Burri of considerable size, but elegant and incisive at the same time: you can see the mark, the vocabulary, relating to a less dramatic period than the plastic combustions (it was executed in 1969), even though you can also sense its underlying unease. It testifies to the artist's incessant investigation into the use of materials in order to shape them to his own language, as well as the investigation of the form in space, to him always traversed by time.
We chose it for its incisive impact, and because the artist created very few of these "white plastics", particularly of these dimensions. The plastic and the acrylic, skillfully applied onto the cellotex, create an extremely interesting effect, particularly with the refraction of light on the plastic, which makes it shine, in contrast to the opaque black of the shape in the centre. It is a powerful work, which imposes its presence with great essentiality and sophistication at the same time: for this reason we hung it on the wall opposite the entrance. "He" stands there, proud of his position, and magnetises whoever comes into the house: guests suddenly stop, they greet us, but with their eyes continue to run over the surface of this great painting which communicates the spiritual energy of Burri in the late 60s. A work that marked our days, our returning home, and which has always conveyed to us the multifaceted universe of the artist, but also a profound sense of space and sophistication of form.
