With Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch with raised hour markers in gold in 1951 and its subsequent sale on 12 April 1952.

Reference 2415 is distinguished by its unusual case design, affectionately called "canapé" or "sofa" amongst collectors. The model was in production between 1946 until the mid-1950s.

For an illustration of a reference 2415 see Patek Philippe Wristwatches by Martin Huber and Alan Banbery, second edition, p. 135, pl. 191, described as "boitier à escaliers" or "stepped case".
