With Longines Extract from the Archives confirming that the present watch was invoiced to the company's agent Ostersetzer in Italy on 19 May 1938.

Amongst collectors, Longines chronographs rank at the very top of the hierarchy of the world's most beautiful stop watches ever made. Connoisseurs not only appreciate the superb movements which Longines manufactured between the 1930's and 1960's, notable calibers 12.68Z, 13ZN and 30CH, but also in particular the generous and masculine case designs, often larger and more substantial than their peers from the same period.

The present lot is no exception to this rule and is, in fact, one of the most attractive examples of a 1930's chronograph - any manufacturer combined. It pleases its beholder with its wide, mobile lugs and its incredibly sophisticated black dial. Furthermore, it has survived in extraordinarily good and original condition, being a real dream one for all Longines finest collectors.
