The present watch is a pristine example of the rare reference 6240. This model marks the first appearance of the iconic screw down chronograph pushers. It was in production for a very limited time: from '65 to '69 only, exclusively in steel. The majority of 6240s were fitted with the 722 calibre, but cal. 722-1 can be found in late examples. The very first batches of 6240s, however, mounted the earlier calibre: 72B. It is thought that a very limited number of 6240s were fitted with the 72B calibre; the present watch is one of these. Not only this timepiece impresses with its rarity, but it also amazes with its condition: the dial is flawless, the same holds true for the bezel, and the case was most probably never touched. The "icing on the cake" is the presence of the highly rare and sought-after "71" bracelet.
