An open homage to the early days of Panerai, the present timepiece is a re-edition of the vintage so-called "Egiziano" (Italian for Egyptian) military Panerai wristwatch. Produced in exceedingly small numbers for the Egyptian Navy, it is the largest vintage Panerai and one of the rarest as well. The present modern interpretation is a virtually identical to its vintage peer, defined by the extremely large size and the revolving bezel with studded five minutes divisions. The one difference, beyond of course the case back engravings and the case material, is that the crown protecting bridge of the vintage model opens downward, while the one of the modern version opens upward.
