Doisneau’s most famous photograph, ‘Le Baiser de l’Hôtel de Ville’, that shows a seemingly spontaneous embrace has come to epitomize the romance of Paris. However, after a lawsuit in 1990 when a couple wrongly claimed the picture was of them and sued the photographer, it was revealed that Doisneau had staged the scene with two actors and photographed them in various locations. This rare print shows one of the unpublished frames from the shoot.
