Fug (Mirror Painting) by Josh Smith is a seminal example of the artist’s practice of working in an expressive format that changes with each new series. Fug is one of the artist’s iconic mirror paintings, so called because of the framing device that anchors the composition, in this instance an amalgamation of dark gray expressionist brushstrokes.
