She successfully manages to capture her network of friends, lovers and acquaintances in the most intimate of moments without any evidence of her observance. Chiclet doing her Makeup NYC is a perfect example of Goldin’s oeuvre, capturing Chiclet–a friend who appears in other works by the photographer– in the moment of steadily applying her make up.
