Travellers are surprised by a sudden downpour of rain near the town of Shono in Ise Province. To the right is a man using an umbrella for cover bearing two inscriptions: Takenouchi (the name of the publisher) and Gojusan tsugi (part of the series title). To the left a man in a cloak and two littler-bearers scurry uphill, whilst rows of bamboo in the distance bend low in the wind and rain.
