The present watch is remarkable for its provenance. The watch was the faithful companion of a gentleman who worked on the set of the James Bond movie Dr. No and who served in the U.S. Navy. These Doxa dive watches with orange dials were also described in the Clive Cussler books on the fictional character Dirk Pitt. The present watch features the US Divers Co. Aqua-Lung logo on the dial, suggesting it was originally sold in the United States through the American company owned by the legendary Jacques Cousteau.
