‘Art Nouveau Flowers’

This silver Patek Philippe pocket watch features a deeply chased and engraved design of flowers on the case back. The hand engraving continues to surround the case and the pattern repeats itself on the bezel. The large 19’’’ movement is a similar caliber made for export to South America for the Chronometro Gondolo watches. Interestingly, this case bears silver hallmarks that indicate it was made for the German market.

Made in 1896 and sold in 1902, this watch represents a rich example of the Art Nouveau style, curved lines with rich botanical forms.
