These lots have been imported from outside the EU for sale using a Temporary Import regime. Import VAT is payable (at 20%) on the Hammer price. Chuma Maweni is a ceramic artist with a studio in Woodstock, Cape Town. Smoked Teardrop Vases are lidded multi-purpose works of art and were fired straight in a pit giving them their unique look and strong smoky smell, following how Nguni tribes created ceramics for many years before him.
